Final evaluation

In the research portion of this project I we covered subjects like different camera angles and different shot types and how they are used, we also looked at recording sound and how different mics and different environments will effect the recording, we also looked at three point lighting and why it is effective in different videos. In the pre-production part of this project we had to fill out all of the different documents before starting to record, for some we had to write about where we were recording and the different risks that could interfere with the recording and how we would prevent those risks from happening as well as some documents where we had to think about what shots we were going to use so that when we recorded we knew exactly what you are going to record. In the production part we had to film and edit the how to video which includes recording voiceovers, adding music and adding pictures.
The research and preproduction parts of the project helped as the research showed me what I would need to cover and what I could add to the video to make it more interesting and easy to follow. The preproduction was helpful when it came to recording as I knew what shots that I would need which made recording a lot quicker as I knew what I need to shoot.
I think the research and preproduction parts of the project went really well as I was able to complete all of the work to a good standard quickly and in a way that was helpful when it came to recording and editing. I also think that recording went well as well as I was able to get everything I needed and recording audio went well too, but I ran into a lot of problems during editing. The first problem was that my phone which I used to record records at a different rate to what works in premier pro so after I had put everything together I had to put all of my recordings through a program called Handbreak which fixes the issue and then put all of the fixed footage in my video, even though it was annoying to put everything back in this was helpful as I now know what I need to do next time I record on my phone. I also had a few issues with locating footage and had to rerecord my audio as a result but that has helped me get better at backing up all of my work and footage to stop something like this from happening again. Another thing that I had a problem with was text, first I tried the text effect in premier pro but that was very limited so I tried taking screenshots of the writing on a plain background and then take out the background but when the video rendered the background showed up, after that I tried to text tool in premier pro which worked for what I needed. Other than having to redo most of my video a few times the editing went well and I was able to make the video that I wanted to.
Everything I learned from the last course was very helpful during the project as it helped me complete a lot of the work quicker as I knew what I was doing and what I needed to cover. It also helped when putting the video together as I knew how to modify my footage in different way like cutting it or speeding up certain parts to help make the video more professional looking, it also helped me recover from the issues I had editing as I didn't need to check how to do certain thing and could just go straight into fixing it.
The part of this project that I enjoyed the most was the editing as everything that went wrong is going to help me prevent more things from going wrong in the future on more important projects, and also because I enjoy editing.
